New York Memories
As the sun starts to head home for the evening in the west, my wife and I stroll along the Brooklyn Bridge Park. The view before us is astonishingly beautiful. The vibrant orange, yellow, and red hues from the setting sun paint a breathtaking picture before me. As I gaze in wonderment at the canvas laid before me, we stop for a quick bite to eat at a hot dog vendor. As we sit down to begin our meal, we notice the folks around us taking full advantage of what was left of the day.
While the hustle and bustle of Manhattan continues, the ships and boats glide across the waters of the East river to destinations unknown. In the distance, we can see the statue of Liberty, as she welcomes and bids farewell to all who travel to and from the great city.
As the last bit of daylight turns to night, the bright yellow of the lights dotting the old Brooklyn Bridge burn bright, almost greeting the evening with open arms. As these brilliant lights illuminate a path to the city, I look to my wife and state, “I believe it is time for dinner and a show.”
