The inspiration for this painting was a beautiful 10th Century castle, nestled on the sand in a lovely town called Sitges, just south of Barcelona, Spain. When I close my eyes I still remember the strolls on the beach with my lovely wife Susie. With the warmth of the sun on our faces, the feeling of the sand beneath our feet, and the sight of the, castle in the distance rekindle the images of this scene constantly within my thoughts. These feeling and images were just the inspiration I needed to portray this beautiful retreat
